About Us

Welcome to Our Lodge!

We are a community of Freemasons with a rich history of over 100 years. Our Lodge is home to the Cowboy Degree Team, a unique group that adds a fun and distinctive twist to our Masonic tradition.

Our Lodge has never had the same Worshipful Master for more than one term, ensuring that fresh perspectives and ideas are continually brought to the table. Our commitment to developing the next generation of Masons is reflected in the multiple members of our Lodge who are involved in training and mentoring programs.

We hold regular practices throughout the week that are open to members of other Lodges who wish to attend. This fosters a sense of camaraderie and fraternity among the Masonic community, while also providing an opportunity for skill-building and learning.

At our Lodge, we value the principles of brotherhood, charity, and self-improvement. We strive to make a positive impact in our community through various philanthropic endeavors and service projects.

We welcome anyone who is interested in joining our community of Masons, whether you are a seasoned member or a newcomer to the craft. We invite you to come and visit us, meet our members, and experience the spirit of Freemasonry firsthand.

Proud of our DMLA

Brotherhood is not just a bond between men, it is a shared commitment to a set of values and ideals. It is the recognition that we are all in this together, and that we are stronger when we work together. When we support each other, when we lift each other up, we create a bond that is unbreakable.

Brotherhood is more than just a word, it is a way of life. It is about putting others before yourself, about giving of yourself to make the world a better place. It is about standing by your brothers in good times and bad, and being there to lend a helping hand when needed. Brotherhood is a commitment to something greater than oneself, and it is a bond that lasts a lifetime.

The Common Gavel: Uncovering the Symbolic Meaning Behind a Masonic Tool

March 08, 20232 min read

The common gavel is a tool used in Freemasonry that has deep symbolic significance. Its physical form is that of a hammer with a flat head on one end and a chisel on the other. The gavel represents the act of breaking away the excess and unnecessary parts of a stone or block to reveal its true form and purpose. In the context of Masonic symbolism, it represents the individual's effort to shape and refine their character and personality.

The common gavel is one of the three main tools in Masonry, along with the square and the compass. While the square represents morality and fairness and the compass represents the individual's ability to control and direct their actions, the gavel represents the power of self-reflection and self-improvement.

In Masonic teachings, the common gavel is used as a metaphor for the individual's spiritual journey. It is through the process of self-examination and introspection that one can discover and eliminate the faults and vices that hinder their growth and development. The gavel represents the power of the individual to break away from negative habits and behaviors and to shape their personality and character in a positive way.

The common gavel is also symbolic of the power of individual responsibility. It is up to each individual Mason to use the tool to shape and refine their own character, rather than relying on external influences or factors. The gavel reminds Masons that they have the power to shape their own destiny and to take responsibility for their actions and decisions.

Another aspect of the common gavel is its use in the construction of buildings. Masons use the gavel to break off the rough edges of stones or blocks so that they can fit together seamlessly. In this context, the gavel represents the power of unity and cooperation. Masons understand that by working together and helping each other, they can build something greater than any individual could achieve alone.

In addition to its symbolic significance, the common gavel also has practical uses in Masonry. During ceremonies, the gavel is used to call the meeting to order and to maintain decorum and order throughout the proceedings. It is also used to break up rough stones or blocks during the construction of Masonic structures.

In conclusion, the common gavel is a powerful tool with deep symbolic significance in Freemasonry. It represents the power of the individual to shape and refine their own character and personality, as well as the power of unity and cooperation in achieving great things. By understanding and utilizing the lessons of the common gavel, Masons can become better individuals and contribute to building a better world.
