The Oklahoma Masonic Cowboy Degree Team hails from Sand Springs Masonic Lodge #475. We have traveled all over the state putting on Master Mason degrees for brothers who wanted to have a unique degree experience. The team strives to provide excellent ritual quality and at the same time make it an enjoyable experience for all attending. If you are interested in having the Cowboys, put on a degree for your lodge, please reach out via the contact form and the degree team director will get back with you. If you are a Master Mason and see one of the degrees on the calendar of events, feel free to contact us if you would like to be a guest and watch the event.
The degree team started putting on degrees back in 2010 and have traveled outside the state as far as Sheridan, WY and Tombstone, AZ. in our time as a degree team we have had the pleasure of performing over 250 degrees so far.
Thank you worshipful Ray Meldrum for being a great Stuart of the history and providing all the photos!
Events are an important part of our Masonic community, bringing brothers together to share knowledge, build relationships, and give back to our community. As the great Masonic philosopher Albert Pike once said, 'What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.' At our lodge, we strive to make a positive impact on the world through our charitable work, educational programs, and community events. We invite all brothers and friends of the fraternity to join us in these efforts, and to check our event calendar frequently to stay up-to-date on upcoming opportunities to connect and serve.
"We build temples in the heart that we may dwell there in spirit."
- Albert Pike
"We have a duty to befriend the lost, to encourage the faint-hearted, to warn the unruly, to cherish the faithful, and to comfort the afflicted."
- John Henry Hopkins
"Masonry teaches that the soul of man is immortal, and that it will continue to exist beyond the grave."
- George Washington

Decoding the Mysteries of Masonic Symbolism: Understanding the Language of Freemasonry
Introduction: Masonic symbolism is an integral part of Freemasonry, and it can be found in the rituals, lectures, and even the tools used by Masons. It is a language that communicates abstract concepts and moral truths through the use of symbols. However, these symbols can be confusing for outsiders, and even for new Masons. In this blog, we will explore the meaning behind some of the most common symbols used in Freemasonry and help decode the mysteries of masonic symbolism.
Body: The use of symbols in Freemasonry dates back to its earliest origins. These symbols were used to communicate important moral and ethical lessons to the members of the fraternity. Over time, the symbolism evolved and became more complex, incorporating different layers of meaning and symbolism. Here are some of the most common symbols used in Freemasonry and their meanings:
The Square and Compasses: This symbol is one of the most recognizable symbols of Freemasonry. The square represents morality, truthfulness, and the firmness of character, while the compasses represent wisdom, knowledge, and circumspection. Together, they remind Masons to live a life of morality and virtue.
The All-Seeing Eye: This symbol is often associated with the Illuminati and conspiracy theories, but it actually has its origins in Freemasonry. The All-Seeing Eye represents the watchful eye of God and the constant need for Masons to be mindful of their actions and behavior.
The Apron: The apron is a symbol of the Masonic journey and represents the purity of heart and intention that a Mason should have. It is also a reminder of the work that needs to be done to achieve moral perfection.
The Three Pillars: The three pillars – Wisdom, Strength, and Beauty – represent the fundamental qualities that a Mason should possess. Wisdom represents the ability to make good decisions, Strength represents the physical and mental fortitude needed to follow through on those decisions, and Beauty represents the aesthetic value of one’s actions.
The Blazing Star: The Blazing Star represents the Divine presence of God and the light of truth. It is a reminder of the importance of seeking knowledge and the pursuit of truth.
Decoding the mysteries of masonic symbolism requires a deep understanding of the symbolism and its context. However, the symbolism is not meant to be understood in a literal sense but rather as a tool to inspire moral and ethical behavior.
